Dog and Pet Friendly Accommodation in Bonville NSW Wagtail Cottage - genuine dog friendly B&B

Facilities

The guest accommodation is simple, clean and practical with tiled floors and warm, comfy furnishings.  A queen-size bed (and dog bed) is provided.  This is a perfect place for a couple to unwind after a day's travel and sleep undisturbed while your dog enjoys the freedom of relaxed surroundings.  It is made for two, but may accommodate more (please enquire).

Linen and towels (for humans) are provided.  There is a dog bed, but we always suggest you bring a familiar-smelling rug or towel for your dog to sleep on.

Accommodation features include accessibility and mobility facilities for wheelchair users and travellers with a disability, so everyone's stay can be worry free.

Your dog is very welcome

We know that at some so-called dog-friendly places the proprietor can growl more than the dog! At Wagtail Cottage your dog (or cat):

  • is allowed inside the cottage (please cover furniture to protect it).
  • may roam in the fenced courtyard area.
  • is welcome at most Sawtell village eateries (outside tables)

Conditions of Stay

If we want to maintain this fabulous little facility for dog-loving and weary travellers we need to have just a few little requirements.

1. Wagtail Cottage is in a semi-rural/residential area. Although not in close proximity to neighbours, we are still mindful of noise late at night - hence the surcharge to discourage late-night arrivals.

2. While Wagtail Cottage is purpose built so you can have your dogs inside with you, outside we require your dog be contained within the fenced area provided or on a leash when out walking. Not only is this the law, it also prevents dogs from wandering onto other properties and stressing the free-range chooks, cows, horses etc. (We said we were rural!)

3. Of course, it goes without saying that puppy poop pick up is imperative (Yes,  country folk hate it squished between the tread of our boots just as much as you do!)

4. Wagtails is for those people whose dogs are part of the family and go everywhere with them. A dog left in unfamiliar surroundings can fret. This can result in never-seen-before destructive behaviour, unusual barking, crying and protective responses. Therefore dogs cannot be left alone at Wagtails.

5. Vaccination Certificates - We like to make sure our furry friends are protected while staying at Wagtail Cottage. Up-to-date vaccination details will need to be shown and are a condition of staying at Wagtail Cottage. We maintain the highest standard in room cleanliness at Wagtails, so we would appreciate your precious pet being clean, flea free and wormed before they arrive.
